I worked in my family's coach and bus business from leaving school, trained in the workshop by our own time-served and highly skilled mechanics.
I have over 30 years experience working on diesel and petrol vehicles, large and small (from motorbikes to double decker buses) and I am an approved installer for BiGas LPG systems.
Our love of campers started with a 1985 Sherpa called Brian, which I found in a field! He was a big old 6-berth beast with a puny 1.8D non-turbo engine and 4 speed box - possibly the slowest thing I had ever driven. Within a few weeks, we'd fitted a 2.5L Land Rover engine, 5-speed gearbox, front axle, propshaft, retrimmed interior, welded floor and resprayed cab. Now we had a luxury motorhome! Anna and I were smitten with campers from then on. Our next project was our first T25, and we've never looked back. What started as a hobby became our business, and the Campershack was born.
We moved into larger premises in January 2011, and now offer a wide range of services for you and your camper.
This year we are pleased to have been joined by Dave as an extra, much needed, old-school mechanic. Dave has spent all of his working life in automotive engineering (engine rebuilding is his passion), and classic Hillman Imps are his hobby (until I converted him to VW, that is!). He worked as a mechanic in my family's business for many years, so we know each other very well.
